MinimallyInvasiveSurgeryMinimally Invasive Surgical Procedures mean that your physician can perform the recommended procedure through tiny incisions instead of one large opening. While open surgery can involve incisions of 6 to 24 centimeters depending on the type and location of the procedure, minimally invasive surgery requires incisions of only 1 to 2 centimeters or no incision at all.

Why is Minimally Invasive Surgery a good alternative? Our physicians are skilled at using a variety of techniques to operate resulting in less pain, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times and return to normal activities.

When indicated, your physician will make the choice and recommend that your surgery is performed using this minimally invasive technique. In some cases, your physician may not be able to see everything and may have to use a larger incision. Most minimally invasive surgeries are performed as out-patient, so you can go home the same day to recuperate. Some surgeries, however, may require you to stay overnight in the hospital.
